Being "offended" isn't an emotion. It doesn't even exist. You can be angry that someone was personally rude to you. But being "offended" about some generic happenstance that doesn't impact your life in any way is a made up hoax to get attention, victimbucks and cultural power.

To be fair 'moral outrage' and 'moral disgust' are fairly well studied as distinctive emotions in psychology. They're 'offended' - adjacent. But, just because they're real doesn't mean they're as useful in the 21st century as most folks seem to think they are.
