Most people I know who are career-passionate about physical health are that passionate because they've been struggling with health problems their whole lives. I'm starting to think the same thing is going on with mental health professionals.
I've worked in psych departments for 30 years. I have views on this, but I cannot share them.

Isn't there research showing that mental health professionals are more likely than general pop. to have suffered mental ill-health?

The key next step is to find out a) what type of advantage/disadvantages this provides, and then b) do the schools address this and then even try to take advantage of this fact?
