Although at the same time the personality traits that help determine whether someone will take advantage of their luck are pretty linked to genetics too and even if not its not something you control since basic personality traits are basically set in stone by the time your 6.

Personality traits are huge too but theyre also largely genetic and outside of people's control. Studies have long shown basic personality traits are practically set in stone from a very young age.

Yeah hes taking this a little bit too far. I decent IQ is a prereq for success in certain fields, but its far from a guarantee. There are plenty of highly intelligent fuck ups who waste the intelligence they were lucky enough to win in the genetic lottery.
