PS of the ex-spouses receiving alimony as of 2010 (latest figures I could find), 97% are woman and 3% are men. https://www.forbes.com/sites/emmajohnson/2014/11/20/why-do-so-few-men-get-alimony/#4e5db97a54b9 … There are very few good stats on net wealth transfers from men to women, including alimony. Wonder why???

If you are genuinely interested in feminist views on alimony, I did a quick Google, found a Quora question with some coherent answers.https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-feminist-views-on-alimony …

All of those answers boiled down to this; 'the law is technically equal about alimony, but men don't get as much money, so it must be their fault for not bargaining aggressively enough for it'. Now run the same argument in reverse for the wage gap and see how it sounds....

But see, those are payments women are due for having grown up under the thumb of the patriarchy. How dare you suggest women don't deserve a lifelong cash subsidy for having entered a consensual relationship that didn't work out!? Misogynist!

Because alimony can be seen as a form of patriarchal reparations. Men make more than women and marriage is a historically oppressive institution.

What reparations do men get for suffering 95% of deaths in warfare?
