One thing I've learned this year: The fundamental political divide isn't Left versus Right. It's anti-natalists versus pronatalists.

Can’t people be pronatalist in some ways (“married couples should have a right to procreate as much as they want”) and anti-natalist in others (“surrogacy and sperm donation should be banned”)? What does that average out to, normal?
We'd have to run the numbers to estimate net effect. Surrogacy and gamete donation are very rate compared to married couples having kids the usual ways.

Google says there are only 750 surrogate births a year. A German crime show I watched last week said it's illegal in europe. TV shows - sitcoms even - do seem to be trying to normalize it.
