One thing I've learned this year: The fundamental political divide isn't Left versus Right. It's anti-natalists versus pronatalists.

Bad take professor, David Benatar explicitly states that he would never advocate politically for his philosophy (antinatalism) and in fact would actively oppose attempts to do so since they would be gross infringements on individual liberty.
I'm talking more about Bernie than about Benatar. Nobody's heard of Benatar.

True but is it profitable to discuss a philosophy by through the lens of the weakest of its exponents?

It's profitable if the "weak" purveyor of said philosophy is highly influential. The influential figure spreads their version of the idea, and the original idea is lost to the masses. It always comes down to the lowest common denominator.
