I've never claimed anyone has a _right_ to roads. We can agree to fund roads through taxes. That's fine. But once you claim a _right_ to roads, you don't understand what a political right it.

Precisely equal? Underscore-precisely-underscore-equal to taking ALL the labor AND resources of everyone "else"?? It's more like taking maybe 30% of combined output and redistributing it equally to all, including those paying the taxes.

Where does the constitution give the government the power to redistribute wealth just because some folks think that would be nice? If you want to pass a constitutional amendment doing that, give it a go.

The US can decide it wants to be a fundamentally different kind of economy, but when you have serious candidates talking about functionally trapping wealthy people here under a 40% exit tax — terms to which they never agreed when they grew their wealth here — I have a big problem

Right now the US shoulders a great burden in e.g. medical discovery for the rest of the world in exchange for a massive influx of global talent. I can understand why many people think this is a raw deal, but I don't think they understand the implications of rapidly opting out
