And something like “if in 5-10 years we don’t see the following metrics, here’s how we’re going to phase this policy out and try something else” would be nice to have.
Any citizen or politician who advocates any policy should be ready & willing to explain the top three most likely costs, risks, and bad side-effects of the policy. No policy is 100% upside.
