Many public universities (which are arms of the state) now require candidates for faculty positions to pledge their 'commitment to the values of equity, diversity, & inclusion'. Is this an unconstitutional form of 'compelled speech' (a political litmus test)?
If a faculty candidate said they supported political and religious diversity, would they be interviewed?

"Would people with belief X be hired?" is a different question from "Is compelling to make statement Y as part of their job illegal?"
