I find it utterly terrifying to imagine some judgmental omnipotent being who doesn't bother to give clear, precise, verifiable, up-to-date directions about what it takes not to burn in hell. If they exist, they're a vague and capricious sadist.

Even with such a cynical take, you avoided his question by answering to the opposite. You absolutely know that believing this is all chaos and we are just chemicals leaves you with zero hope and fleeting moments of happiness while you’re distracted from the “fact” of the abyss.

I answered his question precisely: a cosmos ruled over by a capricious, sadistic, elusive God would be _much_ worse than any self-organizing cosmos without a God.
