Even with such a cynical take, you avoided his question by answering to the opposite. You absolutely know that believing this is all chaos and we are just chemicals leaves you with zero hope and fleeting moments of happiness while you’re distracted from the “fact” of the abyss.

I answered his question precisely: a cosmos ruled over by a capricious, sadistic, elusive God would be _much_ worse than any self-organizing cosmos without a God.

Direction: Love God with all of your heart. Love your neighbor as yourself. Follow Jesus and keep His commandments. I don't understand how that isn't clear?

I’ve always wondered why God would give his people a prophet and seer in the days of ancient Israel, but in modern times, God is like “Ya’ll can just figure it out in your own.”
