Cosmetologists who don't follow correct safety procedures can really endanger people. It's pretty easy to make a public interest case for some regulation in cosmetology.
A safety course is one thing; licensing is $ for the state.
They hate poor people and want to protect the already wealthy from competition.
Because I'd like people who will be performing procedures on my face, body, and potentially private areas to know how to do said procedures safely and correctly, and in a hygenic manner. Crazy idea, I know.
