Do you mean "Christians" in the cultural sense, or in the sense of actually believing in the dogmas of Christianity? This is a serious question: I was raised in a Strict Protestant family, which probably has influenced me in many ways. But I am also an atheist.

I'm interested in recommendations from anyone familiar with modern, serious, Christian theology, whether they're a believer or not.

Yeah this article on Christianity today is a good place to start. Also my book, the simulation hypothesis, is about 1/3 dedicated to discussing religions and the simulation hypothesisis (though Christianity is mentioned, it definitely isn’t the focus) -https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2017/october-web-only/friend-have-you-heard-good-news-about-simulation-hypothesis.html …

The older I get the more acceptable the simulation hypothesis feels to me. Would love to know if I voluntarily signed up for this epic, and if I chose my journey in an a priori way.... Next time round I’ll go for a sports simulation or maybe a Brewery Sim.....

If you've pre-supposed an anti-Christian bias in academia, you aren't really doing research. There is, if anything, a general anti-religious bias, but religions have always viewed science & academia as a threat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_of_the_knowledge_of_good_and_evil …

And religions have often tried to push ideological, pseudoscientific nonsense as legitimate science.
