Most of my psychology graduate peers I’ve talked to see evolutionary psych akin to eugenics or some sort of misogynistic/white-supremacist pseudoscience. Consequently there are “three generations” of opinion-havers who think cultural change can fix anything

I think the cause for it is implicit in the discipline. Very early on you're taught that social psychology can not be value-free due to the individuals choice of selecting which area within social they wish to study.

When I finished my social psych masters in 2012 evolutionary was not only not a part of the syllabus, it was frowned upon by dissertation supervisors. I was at a top ten uni in the uk. Has this changed?

No doubt about...Social psychologists knew sociobiology and behavioral genetics were lethal to their field back in the 70s.
