Do you see global warming as potentially increasing the risk of nuclear war through geopolitical instability caused by massive human displacement? I worry about that chain of events...
-
No. IMHO that risk is overblown.

Meh, existential is overrated. It's how I feel about skydiving vs. downhill mountain biking: I'd rather take the 1 in 1,000,000 chance of instant death vs. the 1 in 10 chance of breaking a bone & being unable to cycle again. Climate change is very likely going break our bones.
-
Destroying humanity would destroy all potential future generations of humans, so I think the ratios are considerably worse than the breaking a bone vs. dying example

This is kind of like, "getting shot in the head is more deadly than cancer." It's technically true, but most of us are already doing what we can to avoid one, while the other could very easily be sneaking up on us while we are enjoying our cigs and sun tans.

100% of humanity agrees with you here. The issue is which is more likely to happen.

Because of DPRNK or a rogue non-state actor? And this somehow draws in Russia? Because we’d need a lot of nukes, I assume?
