I'll usually write a short review on Goodreads.
After you've spent hours reading a really good book, what % of the time do you spend at least two minutes writing an Amazon review of it?

I wish more people used Goodreads, but its user base is pretty small, and reviews there don't have nearly as much impact as on Amazon....

Psh. If I paid for a book, why would I owe the author a review? If they ask me to pay with a review, I'll review. If they ask me to pay with money, I'll give them money. I don't feel obligated to do both.

Paid reviews are a form of false advertising, aren't allowed on Amazon, and the FTC can get involved if you aren't careful.
