Media/people accuse or assert they know the way to fix the problem. Scape goats are thrown every which way. Each side is defensive and each has their own “facts”. No one seems to be playing by the same rules and the goal is to win and not to fix the game. Sad.

When no one agrees on the basic meaning of basic categories the only symbol left which no one questions is the physics of a bullet. If we could communicate at a “biological” level instead of a cultural level, it might allow us to agree on terminology. For now, binary thinking is preventing us from doing that.

A healthy democracy requires a common understanding that if the opposite side wins, you'll accept defeat. But it's obvious neither side will peacefully accept defeat at this point.

Why do we need sides, losers, and defeat? Democracy is the disease: attempting to subjugate 100s of millions to others' will. It should not be accepted. Democracy is inherently unhealthy.
