That's an uncharitable reading. They do want to solve the problem. But not by using nuclear power to generate energy. Nuclear remains a hard thing to sell on the left because of (i) it's historical association with weapons (ii) poor understanding of its risks vs alternatives
Not a single candidate mentioning nuclear energy as a solution to climate change. Why? Because they don't actually want to solve the problem.

Anybody with a lick of sense or a Geiger counter and a banana knows that show was way over dramatic. Stupid has always been an opponent to nuclear power the show changed very little.
