Are men who ride motorcycles generally more attractive to women? Any academic research on that?

I haven't seen any actual research on that. It makes intuitive sense for sure.

And that risk is significantly reduced if one abstains from drinking and riding and wears a full face helmet.

Wonder is there’s a breakdown of death rates for men vs women motorcycle drivers. Women are perhaps at lower risk given that physiologically less prone to take risks in general.

As a male observer and a former bike rider myself, I would vouch for the fact that men push the envelope for the sport and excitement more than women riders.

Comparing US to UK I’m not surprised. I basically have never ever seen a motorcyclist wearing protective leathers. Usually a helmet, T-shirt and jeans. Like that’s going to help when you fall off. Motorcycle culture in the uk, people wear leathers.

Yes, although the death and injury rate of motorcycling is higher than driving a car, the joy, aesthetics and sense of freedom is significantly higher than that of riding in a cage.

Lots of good books, but “Proficient Motorcycling” by Hough is perhaps the best. Like any sport there is a lot to know, and you have to practice your skills regularly. I’ve ridden for 43 years without an accident.

In the trauma ward, the docs call them donor-mobiles. Without those 20-something yr old organs, many recipients would go without.
