Haven’t we and many others been raising this alarm for years? Not trying to brag, but *finally*! I like the Haidt idea of making academics explain a position from the other point of view in the most convincing terms and forming politically adversarial work groups.

Let's not kid ourselves, being enlightened by Haidt's work is not our own work and is not an antidote to rid ourselves of personal bias....it simply gives us one less reason not to know better.

I think you would be surprised. What’s interesting is studies show that conservatives better understand the liber world view than vice versa. Conservative worldview seems incoherent because you have different meal foundations.

This drives me nuts. I have no issue with people who disagree with me politically. But people who refuse to understand where I’m coming from make me lose faith in humanity. As this author alludes to, it often seems more like a mental block than ill-intent, which is creepy.
