Reading that thread confirms why I will *never* vote Democrat. It's not his opinions that bother me, it's the fact he does as many other progressives do: he forms a political objective (we need Latino voters) and *then* constructs a morality (here's racism) to facilitate it.

His concern isn't a divided country, it's a political objective. Consequently, whether SJWism creates even more anger/division is irrelevant to him, all he cares about is securing votes. This is what happens when voters look to politics rather than religion to solve moral issues.

Surveys are bad science anyway w very poor epistemic validity. I believe the term is "demand characteristic," where people tend to detect the underlying purpose of the survey then respond in a manner they believe the surveyor wants.

Or "social desirability bias". Depends on the question.

If I was a Trump supporter (I'm not) I'd be delighted at that analysis.

I don't think I've ever seen a valuable thought come from Sachs. His life at this point seems driven only in protecting the narrative that intersectionality is good.

Feel like all political analysis needs to be designated before 2016 and after 2016 since Trumps election showed how bad the political analysts were. "This worked in 2014" feels like decades ago

I think identity politics is the wrong thing to object to. I’m not bothered by a person saying black poverty is a specific priority. Political correctness is the enemy
