      My intuition is that growth mindset matters if you believe it matters. And a book like Mate is read by people predisposed to growth mindset. So, I see no problem in using the concept in the book, but rather in scientific justification to apply same mindset to everyone

          Now I wonder if there many studies about effectiveness of placebo effect when there's awareness of placebo effect. At least it works with my decaf espresso at evening.

          That's not necessarily pure placebo. That's also conditioning. Hot date liquid->more energy/concentration
