Until there's a way to deal with the nuclear waste without risking the contamination of the environment for the next 500 000 years, no it's not.
But while the nuke power plant is going, the rods inside are radioactive & open to accident or attack. Or am I not getting it?

Nuclear power is the only way forward. Anyone who says otherwise is just ignorant of the facts.
Except it will take too long to build. We need to go fossil free in a decade and current nuclear power plants under construction have been longer time coming already. Solar have the added benefits that it’s distributed and require less infrastructure than all other power sources.
