Legit question to my followers. Is there anything fatherhood necessarily precludes a man from doing? Not, oh my wife wouldn’t like that, or I don’t feel right doing it. But like, I have a kid, now I can’t enjoy this part of human existence precisely bc I have a kid - anything? https://t.co/lbadE9wQZT

Most definitely, but prior to having children you could have experienced all of that. As a rule I think fatherhood is additive not subtractive, if those are even words.

I've already crashed a motorcycle, and I'm about to become a father; definitely looking forward to the less dangerous joys in life.

Fuck that. Riding motorcycles brings immense joy to my life. I would not be the same person if I did not ride. My wife fell in love with me as a MC rider, I've taught my daughter to ride MCs. I have good life insurance should something happen to me.

I rode motorcycles and sailed and climbed. I taught my kids how to do those things as well.

I've read the responses and must add there's a significant difference between free climbing and motorcycle riding. Millions of ppl ride motorcycles everyday, I wouldn't say the risk is even close to the same, even if the outcome could be.

Unfortunately, fathering a child does not trigger the automatic installation of “sense of duty” and “responsibility to others” software. (Says the motorcycle riding grandpa...)

I appreciate
@primalpoly for using the example of free soloing (@AlexHonnold mentions this himself), rather than more typical rock climbing- of which the most dangerous part is usually the drive to the crag.. Also, it's refreshing to see the term 'free solo' used correctly! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
