There’s such a misalignment between the stated goal of much of the media (reporting objective truth) and the incentive structures (clicks, shares money) that I don’t see how we can get rid of this sort of confirmation bias scratching, emotion rousing, sensationalist garbage 1/2
Honesty time: How often do you encounter 'breaking news' scandal stories that you know will be mis-reported for days before any sort of balanced truth comes out, so you deliberately avoid reading or commenting on 'the story' until then?

unless people really start to put a far higher premium on truth relative feeling and frequent news sites accordingly. It depresses me that I don’t see that occurring any time soon... 2/2
