The key question is, empirically, what % of consumers are actually confused & misled by the product name? If most are, then the name's arguably fraudulent. If most aren't, then it's not a problem. More research needed.
People saying 'if you don't know what a veggie burger is, you deserve whatever you get'. Well, bear in mind there are recent immigrants & students in the US who aren't native English speakers, and products should try to be intelligible to them.

That's not the same as someone who knows the language reading "veggie dogs" & thinking that they're buying 100% genuine pork anus, & you know it. If the concern were actually for non-english speakers, or people who can't read printed text, this isn't the argument we'd be having.
