Removing winner take all from EC allotment would do wonders too. Imagine a 3rd party getting a few EC votes in Cali, TX, NY, etc...

This is a great idea. The partisan system we have established makes it often feel like we are choosing between the lesser of two evils. It also discourages people from voting at all when their preferred candidate is not polling well.
