If the reason you are examining is because the fad made you rethink your life through its lens then yes. Examining one’s life is to reflect on it and spend mental time with it to learn. Socrates wasn’t being flippant. Examination should be constant.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Wondering how many people truly live....is it life if it remains unexamined? I mean, I know it is, but it’s like some part that’s missing and people don’t know it. Which makes it feel almost like an episode of the twilight zone.

Mmm, no. If we try and over-rationalize our lives in the interest of "understanding" them, we run a very real risk of not being about to live them well. Time spent sitting in faculty committees convinced me of that. (And studying with Rittel) .

@EPoe187 I understand that an unexamined life can be peaceful, enjoying the moment, but would that also hinder the growth of society and the individual?
