I love how Democrats have decided that BRIBERY will be their 2020 platform.
We’ll pay you reparations!
We’ll pay your student loans!
Hey @BernieSanders and @aoc— what about my monthly rent and car note?
Can you bail me out of those payments too?

I tend to agree. But crazy complicated & I’m no economist, however, I’m inclined to reflexively reject any hot take on econ proposals/critiques w/o evidence of the person at least applying systems thinking. Far too easy for either party to get worked up by emotion & sticker price
-
As an economost I applaud the system level thinking. (we call it general equilibrium) but in this case spending $1 trillion on ANYTHING from aircraft carriers to prisons to bridges to nowhere would have same (actually greater) stimulus effect. So it's not really a deciding factor

UBI has a lot of issues that I’m not 100% down with, the most glaring being cost of living being wildly different throughout the country, 1000 dollars extra doesn’t pays your rent in cali, but in kansas can pay for 2.5 months
-
One of the biggest social benefits of UBI is that, by keeping it the same for every single citizen, it is a unifying policy. Equal dividends for every citizen (shareholders) of this country.

Can you actually prove this at all? I'm very curious. I can probably get closer to explaining this, but I want to see if you can legitimately back this up...

The purpose of UBI is to undermine welfare
