It's a bit late for that. Policies have pervasively had the character of bribes since the New Deal. One could argue this was true before the New Deal, but the prior examples were piecemeal. With the New Deal, the approach was scaled to mass politics.

I'm pretty sure this has been an issue for millennia.

Or, it's time to learn that money is power and power is money, and this is an unalterable natural law in any society that uses money.

"Policies" follow from corporate/special interest bribes concentrated on politicians and "bribes" flow from politicians for votes, which allow them to earn more bribes.

It's more important for the politicians to learn that lesson.
