The headline exaggerates first by choosing the higher of 2 results (33% vs 23%) and second by making it sound routine ("women only date men because of the free food") when actually of the 23% who reported doing this, they said it was "occasionally or rarely".

The real question is why he didn't grasp this. Is it scientific illiteracy or did the headline bias his interpretation of the results? Either is not great, but for different reasons.
