      So, even if someone felt a sexual drive that was destructive to their life, you don't think there's any reason to refer to it as an 'addiction'? Btw, keep it mind the aspect of destructiveness. Many people do things in great amounts WITHOUT having it be destructive...

      Gay men in the 1950s may have had sex drives that were destructive to their lives -- given the intense homophobia and stigma of that era. Does that mean they were 'sex addicts'?

      Sure, but that sort of side steps the question. Do you think it's impossible to have sexual urges so strong, so often, and so little ability to control them, you do damage to your life, i.e. cheat on your boss, have sex with people you regret, etc?
