Sex makes us feel good. I thought that with anything that makes us feel good, there's a possibility of creating a positive feedback loop so intense as to create, directly or indirectly, destructive side effects without the victim being able to stop. What am I missing?

I'm not convinced it'll be worth my time, or money, at this point. I did however read up on Wikipedia that it's probably better to refer to it as a compulsive disorder, rather than using the term addiction. Anything else I should know?
