I don't understand how people can sell a book with the understanding that it won't be published for two full years. How do you not go nuts? How do you not just publish it yourself on your blog or something? What if somebody else wrote the same thing and is in their two-year wait?
Because you get an advance that's 10x more than you'll make from self-publishing?
I guess that would help me sleep at night...
