PS my anti - interventionist heuristic is, the US shouldn't attack any countries unless they pose an immediate, concrete, proven threat to the American homeland - - not to 'US interests', but to the homeland.

A few tips: 1-Iran is in transition. Multiple attempts of democracy, all failed (almost), leading to 2-Iran is not a theocracy. it's a monarchy with a mix of religious and modern laws 3-Social structure is similar to china. Family first, then the rest of society. 4-

I'd say it's much more rebellious against the state compared to China. Mostly due to the vast economic growth the Chinese state has to offer. I'd say the Iranian public has the potential to be the biggest Ally to the West in the middle East (Israel excluded of course).

I don’t know much so I shouldn’t speak out against my countrymen potentially being sent to a war that is *totally* in *our* national interests. I should sit by idly and smugly signal about my how intelligent it is not take sides (or action in my own interests).

I usually agree with you, and even agree with this sentiment often times, but not in this case. Pretty clear potential war with Iran is not in the American people’s interests. Very few people would benefit from this, and those people don’t share our interests by a long shot.
