There are some things to be said for Frank's proposal. The progressive consumption tax can go well in excess of 100% as you climb the ladder to simulate the same kind of progressive distribution many prefer.

Wouldn't a "highly progressive" consumption tax require relatively more subjective inputs to define its rates? As in, you can define a tax by income distribution w/ a simple quadratic function, consumption would have to be decided good by good, brand by brand.

Do you not see the men we're creating, with the tiny bit of socialism we have now? Violently entitled bigots. They're dividing in to tribes and everyone wants to kill *checks notes* David French? More socialism is totally going to make them do something productive though ;p

The "liberals" that our public education system raised... Think violence, and cages, are the only proper response to people hurting their feelings. Yeah, GDP, is up... Great... But, the character, of humanity, is circling the drain, imho... Need to do something about that.
