Believing everyone should abstain from having children is different than believing we should all have less children. Referring specifically to Bill Mahr's statement, do you think it helps us as humans to have more babies than we can take care of?
A typical modern couple might have trouble taking care of more than six kids, but your mileage may vary.

A "typical modern couple" is hardly making enough to get by, much less take care of 6 kids. Both parents would have to be working, which means hiring a sitter, which means not taking care of their own children much of the time. + more children = less resources/attention for each.
