And the social norm is just that: social. The first amendment provides no legal framework for compelling private businesses to platform speech.

I thought #1A fed into the 'common carrier' regulations that compel telecoms companies to provide a platform for speech regardless of the customers' views. I don't see a principled distinction between AT&T versus Twitter in this regard.
