1. Human nature is not static, but dynamic, so at best we can hope to understand it only at a given point in time, which necessarily implies it can be shaped, and 2. That which is "civilized" directly contradicts "human nature"which is in many respects inherently primal.

Well, here it is in the nutshell: no person is whole. We all have a human side and a dark side. The two can never be at peace, tho only the dark side is conscious of the struggle.
