Monogamist? Wouldn’t they argue for polyamory? That doesn’t seem to fit with the other two.
Virtually all academics assume monogamy as the default, just as they assume Democratic politics and atheism as the default. They're not logically connected as ideas, but they're the overwhelming norms.

Hmm, I wonder how long that will last. I’ve had multiple grad students and professors criticize monogamy in favor of polyamory in IRL discussions in the last 5 years or so. Are you of the opinion that monogamy is a preferable (better working) norm for Western civilization?

I'm working on a book about poly's pros and cons, and civilizational implications. Still thinking through the issues.
