Having kids is hard af because credentialism, careerism, consumerism, corporations, and governments are all pushing in anti-natalist directions. It's not the biology, it's the culture. We need to rebuild culture around kids, not try to squeeze kids into our existing culture.https://twitter.com/antihero_kate/status/1139531687786946560 …

"a community of citizens who..." Hmm, reminds me of my brethren in faith, the non-secular Jewish community! All my living relatives have intermarried, transitioned to atheism, or are childless shi7libs. Aurelian's assessment is on target: dysgenic self-annihilation

Just curious where you see environment/sustainability factors come in? Would these factors ever say it's not "horribly" wrong? When/how do they come in? Where are we now, in your view?

John, you raise the point that environmentally, sustainability conscious individuals should carefully consider such factors in the decision to have children. Okay, don't reproduce! Instead, lots of people who don't care or know nothing of such matters will. Good? Or "horrible"?
