What’s your opinion: Can a woman really love a man after only dating for 4 months?

you do agree that love is an emotion though, right? Do you agree that romantic love (the emotion) fades over time, or no?

this book offers an interesting perspective. Defining love/'being in love' and its meaning is something so fascinating (and sometimes difficult). Would love (see what I did there? ha) to discuss further with

"Commitment" and "loyalty" seems like jow someone who's no longer in love would describe a relationship. It also has a creepy nesting aspect to it. Those are things I can get from friends and family. Love is something else.

I think most of us understand from experience (and research seems to agree) that romantic love is a non permanent emotional experience Commitment is obviously not necessary to any definition of love, unless you want to make arguments that love can last

I dunno, Geoff. We use "love" pretty losely in the English language. If ur gonna insist the above is redefining love, I think u have to provide the "right" definition. I dont think its wildly inaccurate to differentiate romantic vs companionship defs of love.

I'd call romantic love: novelty+possessiveness+sentimentality. Companionship love...not sure. Maybe devotion+selflessness and...not sure! The two seem distinct, though imo.
