I find the opinions of most actors to have no bearing on my opinions, except of their person. Even Tom Cruise's whole Scientology thing doesn't stop me from seeing films he's in.
When an actor comes out as an anti-vaxxer, does it increase or decrease your interest in paying to see their movies?

In general, the more I know about an actor’s personal life the less I’m interested in their performances. Makes it difficult to separate the two.

Right after I submitted my answer (no effect), I realized I’d be financially complicit in lobbying against the interests of public health. But it occurred to me that a lot of the stuff I already pay for contributes to potentially apocalyptic events (eg tech with AI) so whatevs.

I care more if they're an *sshole than if they're a moron, most of the entertaining people from childhood were stupid so I'm not going to hold the adults to that much higher of a standard. But yes it doesn't make me slightly less likely especially if they sell homeopathic woo.

I cancelled Gwenyth when she started pedaling nonsense goop woo etc... But she redeemed herself by appearing on SNL weekend update to parody herself. Uncancelled. Tom Selleck is cancelled as he is pedaling reverse mortgages to let banks steal elderly house if lawn is not mowed.

I would like to say no effect but the whole idea with an actor and a movie is to get lost in the story. If I know something personal that does not pass the sniff test it’s just harder to be swept away in the fantasy.
