K-12 full of indoctrination and only ppl going to college having that challenged seems like a bad model for educating a population....

If the content of K-12 is to a large degree indoctrination in need of challenging, reforming K-12, not college, should be the priority.

That doesn't even make sense. Ideally college builds (expands, deepens, refines, etc.) on the knowledge acquired in K-12. As others' have already stated, if K-12 is just indoctrination then that is what needs to changing/fixing. It says nothing about college.

I think the 10 or so engineering classes I had which used differential equations didn't go much beyond the first chapter of the class which was called "Differential Equations" at least - if that's any consolation.
