Real men don't need leaders reminds me of the phrase "20 hours in the lab saved me 1 hour in the library"

Been thinking about this. Plenty of examples of authoritarian demagogues, but progress often requires effective, often charismatic leaders (e.g., Jefferson, Lincoln, MLK).

We are social animals. Hierarchy driven.

Any work on leadership relative to ability? Seems that there’s an assumption that good leaders are always the best amongst their peers, but baseball is a sport where leaders are rarely the most talented players. I’m sure there are more examples.

Good example is not the best way to learn to be a man, it’s the only way. Associating with men who have earned respect will take young men and boys a lot farther than following some “leader” on social media.
