Isn't the first rule of war to concentrate against a non-concentrated enemy? I'm just spitballing here, I've never been in a street brawl.

The first rule of war is not to provoke the side that owns 90% of the guns. 😉

Hmm, this is an interesting thought. Do you imagine a U.S. civil war would be mainly a combat between citizen militias? The way I imagine it, the U.S. Military would crush either side with ease.

I mean the US military seems to historically been not so great at “crushing the other side”. a guerrilla war with the civilians being US citizens would be pretty difficult.

The side that turned itself and its territory into a blasted guerrilla wasteland, ever hunted by the military, while the other side prospered and went about its business, would already be the loser. Robert E. Lee knew this, because for all his faults he was not a dumbass...

I guess I tend to think of a modern day insurrection as being much more fragmented geographically then the Civil War.

A rightist uprising against the U.S. military would be so utterly and completely disastrous for the American right that I struggle to find words to describe it.

The U.S. military is mostly composed of working-class people on the right. They're not going to crush a coordinated 'rightist uprising', IMHO, they're going to join it.

If that happened, they would win the civil war. The model here is Spain. The right won because they got more and better army units on their side.

Haven’t actually listened to it but heard an interview with the journalist Robert Evans who has a podcast about second civil war. He studies the American right among other things.
