This only applies to people with actual opinions. Most of the people I know do not have any political opinion at all, they just go with what is advantageous at the moment. You can see people everyday, who are outraged at people saying stuff, they themselves said few years back.

But generally speaking, people who give you a hard time for being outside the window tend to be hold their opinions strongly; thus prone to fall outside at one point themselves. People without opinions won’t bother you in the first place.
