In my time we played in construction sites when the workers left. Cops stopped us one day and brought us home in squad cars. More afraid of my parents than the cops.

I love this. Nothing wrong with wanting your kids to be safe, but bubble wrapping children doesnt help them. If we keep handholding too hard our presidents will need their mothers in office to help them.
