Claiming no common ground is a great way to absolve yourself of the necessity of trying to find it. There is ton of common ground Americans agree on, but our pols ignore because they don't want to act, like our anger at Wall Street privatizing gain and socializing risk.

I'm not aware of the content of this research, but "weights" imply some sorte of linearity. I personally believe this is a matter of hierarchy of values.

Not true. The ultimate goal of the Left is the physical and ideological destruction of the Right. The Right is literally facing a genocidal Left hell bent on a Final Solution.
