I have often had the same thought, and also assumed ASMR may be a balm for lonely people. But it may have side effects too given enough consumption. Not sure what those would be...can't connect with the wife unless she gives you a fake neuro exam?? Haha

It is definitely non sexual. But it still feels a bit weird, and is hard to explain to people who don’t experience it.

I wouldn't say so. It is just pure relaxation. It has a similar effect like a head or back rub has on someone who doesn't experience It Doesn't seem to increase itimacy, because you can't move after. It's the equivalent on being on very good drugs.
